My Handpicked Holiday Home Items

Culture / November 17, 2016

The holidays always excite me. But another thing that makes me gush are the seasonal accents and furniture that go with it.

And no, I’m not talking about the yearly Christmas tree or even the metallic balls and wreaths we hang just about everywhere. Designers have come up with their season-appropriate lines of things that could make you forget about that bag you’ve been eyeing and buy a fancy fruit bowl for your upcoming Christmas party.

I have a few things I’ve been looking out myself.

Ito Kish

There’s just something so classic and expressive about Ito’s designs. A cross between Scandinavian and mid-century modern American, a hybrid of colonial Asian and ethnic designs, his pieces give off a global feel and also a local identity.

I personally love this Christmas Tree Antique Silver Finish, the Wine Chiller, and these frosty Ice Gold Glasses.

Lance Wovens

When it comes to weaving leather, Lance Wovens is a trusted name. It flaunts Italian-made, intricate handmade designs. But what I like best about them is their unique range of patterns—particularly for their pillows.

Forget the usual prints because Lance Woven’s Leather Pillow in Gunmetal looks more like a historical relic than simple living room décor—which is awesome.

Fornasetti

I’ve always been a fan of brands that mix tradition and modernity. That’s why when coming up with this list, I just had to mention Fornasetti. I love the obsession with Lina Cavalleri—her face is everywhere in this label—and the contemporary aesthetics and the humor in their designs.

Of course, you can’t talk about the brand without mentioning their scented candles. The holidays, I believe, aren’t complete without these.

What are you putting on display this holiday season?
