The Only Fashion Items You Need to Keep this Coming 2019

Fashion / December 14, 2018

As the year comes to a close and we welcome new gifts over the holidays, there is no better time than to declutter. It is also the best time to asses what you really need. I believe in these staples that never fail you every year.

A few of them are familiar with you like a black blazer. But not any will do.  A good blazer should have a classic look because then it will look great with your white shirt. This  one should fit just right: not too tight and not too loose. Personally, I get my white shirts from James Perse.

Jeans are always a standard pick. I think it goes without saying that a good pair will see you through many occasions and outfits. When choosing the perfect pair of jeans, make sure it gives your butt a good lift. Make sure it falls straight and has a slim fit. Switch out your jeans with a classic pencil skirt. Choose one in a neutral color or in black. My go-to one is in camel. If you want the best fit, get your pencil skirt custom made. Then length is the key here and since women vary in height, there’s not universal length that suits everyone. Same goes for where the slit should go.

It’s also a must to have a go-to bag. I would advice a small one in crocodile leather. This is because I can use it day to night plus it ages well. In fact, I would say a good croc bag looks better as time goes by.

For shoes, there are two pairs I would advise you always have. One is a pair of flats from Chanel or Hermes Oran’s, especially if you wish to have an investment piece. The Valentino Rockstuds would also do if you want something with a bit of flair. But I would say get them in a neutral color so it suits a lot of outfits. The second pair of shoes that I highly suggest you invest in are nude pumps. I like my suede Manolo Blahnik BB pumps. Believe me when I say they are the comfiest pumps you’ll wear. And in suede, they look so chic. I just spray it with a protector from time to time since I do believe they look good if they carry some wear marks.

When it comes to accessories, there are three you must consider. The first one is a pair of shades in a shape that suits your face the most. Shades are helpful on sunny days, between flights, at the beach, and just on days you’re no so confident.  A second accessory that one must have is a watch. It would be great if your mom or an aunt hands you a heritage one, something from Patek Philippe, for example. I know that we often look at our phones for the time but that doesn’t mean a good watch is useless. It completes any outfit and makes you look instantly professional.

My third accessory pick are a pair of diamond studs. A one-carat pair would do you well. It’s not too big to overpower a look but can still be worn at night for fancier occasions. Again, this is an investment bu, really, you don’t need more than one pair. Plus it’s something you can hand down to your children.

With these  items, you’ll find a closet that’s reliable and comfortable, no matter how many trends go by.
