Travel Hacks You’ll Be Glad to Know About

Culture / May 24, 2018

I’m happy I’m at a point in my life that I can travel a few times a year. But as much as I love going to new places, visiting friends, discovering more about culture. But I also don’t find flying the most delightful experience. Between making sure everything in the house is taken care of to packing, it can get crazy. And it can make you anxious.

This is why I want to share a few of my traveling hacks that have proven to save me every single time I board a plane.

#1 Get a mini-passport

It’s a hassle and a risk to bring your passport as you go about your day in a different city. But it’s also wise to have a backup plan in case you do lose or misplace it. What I do is I have it minimized at the bookstore service and laminated. Yes, like a mini-ID. I make at least two copies: one in my carry on and one in my luggage which I check in. Even when i’m back in Manila, I still use this minimized versions as another ID in my wallet.

#2 Skip the sheet mask

When on the plane, I don’t bother with putting on a sheet mask to combat the humidity. All I put is the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I warm a few drops into my hand and then press it on to my face. Afterwards, I sleep and that’s how I wake up with my skin still feeling refreshed.

#3 Emergency care

Upon landing, the harsh changes from the plane’s temperature to the destination you’ve arrived in means you skin needs extra TLC. On top of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, I use the Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-texturizing Serum Concentrate to my skincare routine. This locks in the moisturizer so your skin stays plump.

#4 Grab and go

It’s a pain to constantly check if you remembered to bring all your makeup and skincare with you. Hence, I’m a fan of those pull-up make cases. You can also do your makeup and skincare in the bathroom without digging through a classic makeup back, taking everything out in the process just to reach for your lip balm. You can get from Amazon.

#5 They see me rolling

When packing, don’t fold your clothes. Roll them! It saves on space and also the need to iron them out. You can even put some stuff like your shopping items inside the rolls of clothes.
