Yes, These Beauty Innovations Exist Now

Beauty / March 14, 2017

Let’s admit this: The future scares all of us a bit. But I think if I lived long enough to witness the existence of a “smart” beauty mirror on the market, I’ll gladly embrace it. Right now, I’m happy to be in it.

I scouted the Internet for the craziest and most innovative beauty technology today. While I love me some Temptu Air, Dyson Supersonic, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, and Conair Infinity Pro-Curl Secret—all of which I’m a big fan of, already—I can’t help but look for novel items, sure to knock my Chanel slippers off.

HiMirror

Mirror, mirror on the wall, what can I do to be the fairest of them all? Said to be one of the world’s first-ever smart beauty mirrors—a breed of gadgets that does more than flashing reflections—the HiMirror is a product that examines your skin by taking a picture, and upon inspection, gives you a skin diagnosis and even a makeup routine you should follow. Dermatologists, beware, they’re giving you a run for your money!

Samsung S-Skin

As if a quick, thorough inspection wasn’t enough, the Korean tech giant boasts of the Samsung S-Skin—a two-part package that lets you analyze your skin as well as treat it. A device tracks your skin condition while a biodegradable microneedle patch supposedly penetrates the skin with special ingredients that help heals and reduce blemishes. Talk about on-the-go!

Nanette de Gaspé Mask Collection

I’ve always been hesitant to jump on the sheet mask trend due to its messy nature, but thanks to luxury brand Nanette de Gaspé’s waterless masks, we’re now granted the privilege to soak in beneficial ingredients without getting wet. Each mask in the label’s collection allegedly contains 87 percent active ingredients that are dry-printed on fabric from Japan.

Kérastase HairCoach

Looks like everything’s smart nowadays. The luxury haircare brand has released its first smart hairbrush named HairCoach. It sounds weird enough from reports: Apparently, this little tool not only tames your hair, it can also warn you of damage through a connected mobile app. No more guessing if your hair’s been dry or frizzy, this one can do it for you.

What’s your favorite of the bunch?
