I’m going to tell you now before everyone else: Chunky resin chains are going to be the accessory you’ll see everywhere. It will be one of the gifts you receive this Christmas. You’re going to see it in magazines. It will be on every other Instagram #ootd. You have been warned.

Not that it should surprise you. Chains sneaked their way in last year on sunglasses. ‘Vogue’ UK spotted them last year with that hint of hipster irony. It was grandma chic used an excuse to sport more bling. Nylon saw this again around July and called it “geek chic” while ‘Teen Vogue’ spotted it on Gigi Hadid.

The chain trend is now evolving, favoring resin and fun colors. Spot it on the S/S 2020 runway looks of Zimmerman and Gucci.

If you need some help updating your look with a chain accessory, here’s our suggested shopping list.
