What you can learn from Catriona Gray’s Milan Fashion Week Looks

Fashion / March 05, 2020

Fashion week isn’t just about the clothes on the runway. It’s also about the looks of the guests who come from all over the world. One of them this season included Miss Universe, Catriona Gray.

Representing the Philippines and welcomed warmly by the Filipino community in Milan, Catriona saw the shows for #BeloFW2020. She saw the latest from the Italian fashion capital with Dr. Vicki Belo, who’s never afraid to pull off ensembles fresh from the catwalk.

Catriona pulled off some great looks that should inspire you for your own big occasions. Or maybe when you just need a boost in your daily style.

#1 Go for local

I myself am a big fan of our own designers. I think going abroad is another good reason to collect from the select talents we have here. Catriona brought some creations by Martin Bautista, Patty Ang, and Rubrinas.

#2 Invest in some good coats

If you find yourself attracted to the colder seasons overseas, don’t forget to explore options when it comes to coats. For Milan Fashion Week, Catriona sported a creation by Chris Nick and another coat from Asclo, a South Korea-based label.

#3 Accessorize with unique bags

I love adding texture and interest to an outfit with a trendy bag. The Louis Vuitton Toupie bag is stand adds fun to Catriona’s monochromatic look with its cute silhouette.

For texture and handbags that double as collector’s items, drop by Aranaz.

#4 You can never go wrong with leopard

Didn’t I just tell you how important, timeless, and versatile the wild animal print is? In this interpretation by Catriona, it’s all about that sexiness without showing too much, highlighted by the leopard print.

#5 Have fun with it

It’s all about balance: Go classic with solid colored shoes and pants so you can highlight the colorful and creative top.
