Your Dry Skin Could Use These Wonder Oils

Beauty / October 05, 2016

Is it just me or is the sun in Manila is a lot less forgiving?

With hellish temperatures like ours, it dehydrates the skin faster and makes it prone to wrinkles, cracks, and other unsightly problems. (And yes, it makes us sweat gallons.)

Lately, I’ve discovered the moisturizing (and non-greasy) effects of oils. Forget your bygone face lotions, and try these five for a change.

La Mer Renewal Oil

Through a powerful blend of ingredients, this treatment helps balance sebum and purify pores as it hydrates and renews damaged skin. There are algae, sea kelp, sesame, and even eucalyptus oils here.

This good ol’ non-greasy, radiating oil lends itself well to mixing and matching. Pro tip: Pat this on your salicyclic acid or benzoyl peroxide treatments as this helps zap zits faster and fend off flakiness brought by harsh acne meds.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate

We’ve known Kiehl’s deep commitment to the natural chemistry. And there’s no doubt that this one contains a chockful of natural origin essences beneficial to dehydrated skin.

This yellow elixir contains ginger root, which combats inflammation and works as an antioxidant that stimulates elastin proteins in the skin. There’s also sunflower seed oil helping with hydration, while the Tamanu oil is said to lock in all of your skin’s moisture. Three ingredients are definitely not a crowd;  they’re a much-needed combo.

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

For those who enjoy their aromatherapy, nab this Clarins wonder product filled with skin-softening essential oils of rosewood, blue orchid, patchouli, and hazelnut oil. This treatment targets the top woes of dehydrated skin as well tones, revitalizes, and restores its radiance.

Moisture is its top priority. Dry and combination skin can benefit from its unique formula of plant extracts and oils, as well as its ties to phytotherapy. This rebalancing moisturizer promises to bring your flaky, dull skin back to its satin soft beginnings. Now that’s a time travel trip you might want to go on!

Origins Plantscription Youth-Renewing Face Oil

Erase dryness and aging with a skin-soothing blend of sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, lavender oil, and safflower seed oil. This potpourri of radiating ingredients is now packed in Origins’ lightweight face oil.

Its youth-renewing mix also taps into the effectiveness of Argan, Sunflower, Rose, and Raspberry Oils as well as Anogeissus. These active ingredients help repair your skin’s barrier as it mimics the natural lipids lost with age sans the greasy residue.

The NUXE Hulie Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil

Now I know I said this is all going to be about skin, but it helps to mention another great product that aids other dehydrated parts of our body. Through a mixture of plant oils, feed your skin—and yes, your hair!—with nutritious ingredients and Vitamin E from this The Nuxe Dry Oil that can bring back their softness.

Your skin will love this product’s efficiency at removing visible signs of aging and even stretch marks. (Did I just hear you say hurrah?) If you decide to treat your hair with this luxurious oil, expect volume and shine to return soon.
