The personalized presents I’m giving for the holidays

Culture / September 27, 2019

You may be thinking I’m a little crazy because I’m already starting to shop for the holidays. But hear me out. We all want to do our Christmas shopping ahead of time but never get to do it. Maybe because life just gets in the way. Or maybe because we need a bit of help when it comes to ideas on what to buy.

It’s with these sentiments I’ve decided to come up with my own list of gifts to consider for your loved ones. Personalized gifts to me are a bit tricky and time-consuming. This is why I choose to get them together now that September is coming to an end.

My tip when it comes to personalized gifts isn’t just to have anything you fancy engraved or emboss. Make it truly special by matching the gift to the person’s interests. Give them something that you associate with them.

Another tip I want to share is how you need to allot time for these types of presents because every store has their own timeline of when they can have the name/ initials placed on your chosen item. So get on that early Christmas present shopping schedule.

There are a few people in my life who need to have a tumbler always with them. I’m one of those people as I try my best to stay hydrated throughout the day. For this, I suggest to pick up a tumbler from Corksicle. They offer various designs to cater to the coffee drinker or the tea lover, or simply for those who need a bottle of water with them always.

Take note that with Corksicle, you need two weeks to get you engraved product as they have a special laser technique for it.

For those who mean something a bit more special to you, choose a personalized Miladay necklace. You can get a nameplate or their initial. Ideal for a niece in her 20s as it’s a piece she can treasure for many years aside from using it immediately as an on-trend accessory.

A unique gift for your loved ones with babies or maybe for a significant other is Picxel. They render your chosen photo in plastic bricks you can piece together. I like these for children but also for family portraits as it’s fun and unique. You can also have these done in one day, so no need for a long wait. A similar option for the more traditional type is Caricature Shop. Since it’s all about having photos digitally these days, something that you can frame and hang on your wall always becomes a premium present.

One thing you need to also take note of is Sonja’s Cupcakes. The favorite stop for the sweet tooth offers personalized cakes or even ones with a certain theme. You can bring this to the upcoming holiday parties you have or to give to someone who has everything.

I’m sure from this list, you can think up of what best suits your loved ones. It’s just a matter now of just making the arrangements by going to SM Megamall, where you can find these shops and other great options for you.

I also have another trick. Below is a video of Tricia Centenera, enumerating the gifts at select SM Supermalls nationwide that she chose to have customized for her friends and family. She talks about ScentSmith, where they can put a personal label on your chosen scent, a handsomely engraved pen from National Book Store, and a lot more.
