#KobeforHM: Kobe Paras is the newest MVP of H&M

Fashion / August 02, 2019

It’s exciting to watch personalities come into greatness. There is a certain high when you witness something amazing unfolding before your very eyes, you can’t help but watch.

Kobe Paras, a fresh face when it comes to the sports scene, is setting a fashion milestone as well. H&M and Paras team up for this season’s new menswear collection.

Prior to joining the UP Fighting Maroons, Paras proved himself a covetable sports talent abroad. He was part of the Creighton Bluejays, being the first Filipino to play to join the program. Paras put up good statistics as the Bluejays showed up for the NCAA, the premier basketball league for American colleges and universities.

He is also the face of the Philippine 3×3 team. Paras represents how our country holds a lot of potential and can even reach Olympic gold as the Tokyo 2020 games draw near.

You may be a little bit caught off-guard by the unusual pairing. What’s a cager doing in a fashion campaign? Don’t be fooled! Paras showed off his fashion skills for this collection.

The basketball player isn’t just the model for this campaign. He was involved in every step of the process. Paras actively selected the garments that would make the collection and was even the one who styled himself for the shoot. Talk about being a potential multi-slasher.

In the photos, you can see Paras’ fresh and sporty take when it comes with casualwear. Rainy season-appropriate hoodies, details like animal-print socks and tinted lenses update the everyday shirt and jeans.

The campaign photos along with Paras story represents the vibe of today’s youth. Since this is a busy generation that’s doing new things and constantly moving towards the next big thing, they need clothes that can catch up. Plus it doesn’t hurt that these are also ensembles you won’t mind posing in whenever you need to update the ‘gram.

The collection will be available starting Aug. 8, featuring Paras’ off-court approach to fashion. You will be able to cop with various wardrobe essentials like graphic tees and trousers with prices starting at P299. I just know that there’s a little something for everyone in this collection.

The #KobeforHM campaign follows the success of #NadineforHM. Earlier this year, Nadine Lustre became the first Filipina brand ambassador for the fast-fashion label. H&M and Lustre launched a fun and on-trend swimwear that quickly found its way in every other vacation outfit.
